Closing for the Summer
Friday 23 March 2012

Dear Friends,

Joseph's House will close down its winter café program as of Saturday night, March 31, 2012. We are so very grateful to all of you for all that you have given to make our café program possible. We've been blessed with great success this winter and I'd like to share some of those blessings with you.

We were able to assist several of our guests in finding housing. Several guests got jobs that enabled them to close their public assistance cases. Many were connected with social services, and some even entered rehab programs. We were blessed to have 100 volunteers work in the café and six corporations donated materials, supplies and dollars. Additionally, we served 14,650 simple meals and almost 30,000 cups of coffee to just over 650 people. It has been a busy five months at the café and a time of many blessings.

You have been a big part of our success. Each night, our guests enjoyed a simple meal, a safe haven, and the warmth of nightly fellowship because you cared enough to get involved. Your care and support went a long way toward making the café feel like home to those who don't have housing.

From all of us, guests, volunteers, and staff, to all of you, a big THANK YOU. We look forward to working with you again in the coming months.

Lenten Blessings,

John Klein
